Ayurvedic Soup To Boost Your Metabolism + Calm Inflammation Hero Image

This soup leaves you with a warm feeling and satisfied taste buds.

Important Note: If you want to make this fabulous recipe, you’ll need to soak the mung beans overnight, so make sure you do that the night before!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 cups whole mung beans
  • 12 cups water
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin seed
  • ¼ teaspoon rock salt (plus more, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons minced coriander

You Won't Believe These Chili Cheese Nachos Are Actually Meat- And Dairy-Free Hero Image

Serves 8 to 10

Ingredients (Sauce)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ to ¾ teaspoon sea salt, to taste
  • 1 medium jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small red capsicum, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 400g can diced tomatoes, with juices
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 400g can lentils, drained and rinsed
  • 1 400g can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • Cheese Sauce (see below)
  • Corn tortilla chips, for serving

It’s easy to make (and makes leftovers to quickly heat up throughout the week), it’s warm, comforting, nutrient-dense, and delicious 🙂

Serves 6 to 8

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 large pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 sweet onion, peeled and diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 teaspoons sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pinch of ground cloves
  • fresh ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 sweet, tart apples, cored and chopped
  • 3 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • 1 head cauliflower, broken into florets

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon fresh or dried mixed herbs

As the weather gets colder, warm food warms the heart and body.  This is my new favourite winter warming meal.

Ingredients

  • 450g chorizo
  • 450g shrimp, cleaned
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 zucchini, sliced
  • 2 parsnip, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ¾ cup bone broth
  • 1 tablespoon garlic clove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon basil
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

This Detoxifying Soup Is A Multivitamin In A Bowl Hero Image

  • 1 large leek, white parts only, rinsed and chopped
  • 1 potato, peeled and diced small
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red-pepper flakes or freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 bunch silver beet, stemmed and coarsely chopped
  • 1 bunch kale, stemmed and coarsely chopped
  • ¼ cup loosely packed chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
